Trenchless vs. Traditional Sewer Repair: Cost Comparison
Sewer Repair · July 28, 2026 · 6 min read
The sticker price of trenchless lining is often higher — until you add up concrete, landscaping and the days your driveway is unusable. Here is how the real numbers compare.
The number on the quote isn't the number you pay
Placeholder content. Traditional dig-and-replace quotes usually cover excavation, pipe and backfill — but not the concrete, pavers, sod, irrigation or hardscape that has to be rebuilt afterward. Those restoration costs are frequently the largest single line item on the finished job.
What drives trenchless pricing
Placeholder content. Liner cost is driven by pipe diameter, run length, the number of bends and how much cleaning prep the host pipe needs before lining.
When traditional is genuinely the better buy
Placeholder content. Fully collapsed pipe, severe bellies and lines that must be re-sloped cannot be lined, and pipe bursting or open replacement is the honest answer.
