Why assemblies fail
- 01Debris on the check valvesGrit from the supply keeps a check from seating fully, so it won't hold differential pressure.
- 02Worn rubber partsSeats and discs harden and deform over years. This is the most common repair we make.
- 03Freeze or impact damageExposed assemblies in landscaping get hit by equipment or damaged in a cold snap.
We diagnose first, then you choose
Most annual visits are a straightforward test and filing. When an assembly fails, we usually rebuild it with a repair kit the same visit rather than replacing it — replacement is only necessary when the body itself is damaged or the unit is obsolete.
Annual test and certification
Best for compliant assemblies. Tested, documented, filed with the purveyor, reminder set for next year.
Repair or replace, then certify
Best for a failed test. Rebuild kit where possible, replacement when the body or model requires it.

Send us the notice
The notice has your assembly details and deadline. We schedule around your operating hours.
- 02
Test the assembly
Gauge test on each check and the relief valve, with a brief water shut-off window you'll know in advance.
- 03
Repair if it fails
Rebuild kits carried for common assemblies so most failures are corrected on the same visit.
- 04
File and confirm
Certification filed with your water purveyor, a copy to you, and we flag next year's due date.
You'll see the number before we start
Testing is a flat quoted price per assembly, with any repair quoted separately in writing. What affects it:
- Number and size of assemblies on the property.
- Assembly type — RP, DC or detector check on a fire line.
- Whether repair parts are needed after the test.
- Access, and whether the visit has to be outside business hours.
“They tested both assemblies, replaced a failed check, filed the certification, and reminded us the following year.”
